Recognized as a leader in the Canadian insurance industry, Lespérance joins Lockton from Aon Canada, where he spent 24 years in senior roles, serving as president since 2019 and president and CEO since 2025.

Lockton said his proven track record of enhancing client service by developing and implementing complex risk management strategies and building elite consulting teams for large multinational organizations in North America, Europe and Asia makes him uniquely positioned to shape the next phase of Lockton’s Canadian offering.

The appointment reflects Lockton’s commitment to building a Canadian-led organization to support businesses as they navigate a dynamic operating environment and respond to increasing pressures on risk and people solutions.

Lespérance has nearly 30 years of risk management experience, effectively developing and implementing insurance program strategies for large multinational organizations, particularly in North America, Europe and Asia. He has been with Aon Canada for 24 years, working his way up to senior positions, serving as President since 2019 and then as President and CEO since 2025.

He is also Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Insurance Association. Lespérance studied risk management at the University of Quebec in Montreal and completed executive education programs at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Outside of work, Lesperance is a competitive triathlete and enjoys spending time with his family.

Aon appoints Marsh’s Desmond as head of UK commercial risk construction

insurance broker Aon Corporation Appointments announced Andy Desmond As Head of UK Commercial Risk Construction, effective 1 July 2026. Desmond will be based in London and will report to Rob KempChief Executive Officer, Aon UK Commercial Risks.

In his new role, Desmond will lead Aon’s UK construction business, driving growth and further strengthening the company’s capabilities. With over 25 years of experience in broker and client roles, he has expertise in risk allocation, strategic consulting and integrated solutions, with a strong focus on supporting innovation in construction methods and improving outcomes throughout the project life cycle.

Desmond will join from Marsh UK & Ireland, where he was head of the construction industry practice. Previously, he worked for Kier Group as an insurance manager for 18 years.
