Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced that a Sedgwick County man was sentenced to 12 months of probation for insurance fraud.
Lance Give, 64, entered no plea and was found guilty on July 8, 2026, of two misdemeanor counts of insurance fraud in Sedgwick County District Court. Given provided false information about the location and circumstances of the accident in order to obtain coverage for damage to his vehicle that would not otherwise be covered by his policy. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months’ probation, with a 30-day jail sentence if he breached the probation. He was ordered to pay a $500 fine on each count.
The case was investigated by the Kansas Department of Insurance and prosecuted by the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.
