Shepherd Insurance announced it is expanding its footprint in Indiana with the acquisition of two agencies.
Shepherd recently acquired Indianapolis-based Capitol Insurance Group.
Founded in 1981, Capitol Insurance Group is an Indianapolis-based family-owned company known for providing customized insurance and risk management solutions to businesses, churches and non-profit organizations, as well as individuals. Through this partnership, Capitol customers will continue to work with the same trusted local team, now supported by Shepherd Insurance’s expanded resources, broader carrier relationships and additional expertise.
The addition of Capitol Insurance Group expands Shepherd’s footprint in Indianapolis while bringing unique expertise in the church and nonprofit insurance space that complements its existing capabilities.
Shepherd also acquired Bedford-based Cox & Kimball Insurance.
With a service-first philosophy, Cox & Kimball brings decades of industry experience and long-standing client relationships to the Shepherd team. As part of this partnership, the Cox & Kimball team will join Shepherd Insurance’s Bedford office.
The acquisition has special significance as founder Dave Shepherd was born in Bedford, making it all the more important that the company’s influence in the community continues to grow.
