Markel hires Talbot’s O’Donoghue to lead London fine arts and coins business
Markle InsuranceInsurance business unit of Markel Group Inc. announces appointments Danny O’Donoghue Effective immediately as Director of Art and Coin.

O’Donoghue will be responsible for leading the strategic and sustainable expansion of Markel’s art and coin portfolio to further strengthen the organization’s position as an art and coin insurer in London.
O’Donoghue will be based in London and will And McCarthyDirector of Maritime at Markle International.
His primary responsibilities include identifying, evaluating and underwriting complex risks in four key areas (fine art, coins, jeweler’s block and cash in transit) while supporting the professional development of the underwriters on his team.
In addition to these responsibilities, O’Donoghue will cultivate broker relationships and work closely with Markel’s claims and actuarial departments to stay informed of industry developments and ensure coverage remains appropriate for broker partners and insureds. He will also pursue partnership opportunities within the company’s international fine art and coin teams to enhance broker service levels and drive further profitable growth.
O’Donoghue has over 15 years of underwriting experience, 13 of which have been specialized in art and physical insurance. Previously, he served as Director of Fine Art & Specie at Talbot, where he was responsible for leading Fine Art & Specie’s global strategy and execution across Lloyd’s Syndicate 1183 and AIG corporate platforms. Prior to that, he served as a high-end art and coin underwriter in Aspen for more than 10 years.

Aon global reprofessional team promotes Mitchell, hires Floodflash’s Rimmer
insurance broker Aon Corporation Announce appointment Jimmy Mitchell and Adam Rimmer Effective immediately as a Broker with the firm’s global reprofessional team.
As Vice President of Global ReSpecialty, Mitchell will be based in New York and work with clients to build global treaty portfolios, leveraging his experience and market relationships to broaden access to the proportional reinsurance market.
Michel joined Aon’s commercial risk team in 2025 after working at Guy Carpenter and Willis. he will James Fogartyis Global Head of Marine, Energy and Composites at Global ReSpecialty, responsible for the retrocession and specialty ratio business lines.
Meanwhile, Rimmer joins Aon as a senior real estate specialist at parametric MGA FloodFlash, where he served as co-founder and CEO for eight years, and previously spent five years on the capital markets team at risk modeling firm RMS.
