A District of Columbia woman was sentenced last week to 32 months in prison for her role in seven internal robberies at a Chinatown pharmacy, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro reported.
Pirro said London Tite pleaded guilty to robbery in February. In addition to the 32 months in prison, the judge ordered Teeter to serve three years of supervised release.
According to court documents, beginning in July 2023, Teeter and three co-conspirators carried out armed robberies at Walgreens stores in Chinatown almost monthly while she or her co-conspirators were working.
As a store manager, Teeter knows when cash moves within a business. In each of the robberies, a masked gunman entered the store and forced an employee into the manager’s office or used a password provided by Teeter or his co-conspirator to enter the manager’s office. Prosecutors said the gunman then robbed employees and fled out the back door.
According to prosecutors, Teeter and her co-conspirators took turns pretending to be victim managers on duty because they knew the robberies would be caught on internal surveillance.
In response to the robbery, a Chinatown Walgreens store hired armed SWAT officers to protect the business. Teeter knew police would be present during the robberies and that a co-conspirator robbed officers of their firearms during several robberies.
In the plea agreement, Teeter admitted to conspiring to steal and divide at least $28,983.
Co-defendant Michael Robinson, also a Walgreen store manager, was sentenced to 147 months in prison. The shooter’s co-defendant, Kamanye Williams, was sentenced to 198 months in prison. Gianni Robinson, nephew of Michael Robinson, was sentenced to 126 months in prison.
Federal prosecutors sought a 100-month prison sentence for Teeter, but she was sentenced to only 32 months.
“London Teeter was a key architect of a seven-month scheme that repeatedly turned her own workplace into a crime scene,” Pirro said. “The sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of 87 to 108 months. This is a significantly lighter sentence and will do little to protect the citizens of this area.”
